Circle C Natural Horsemanship Lessons

After fifteen years of teaching horsemanship, I’ve come to firmly believe that those who invest in consistent instruction achieve the quickest and most effective results. During that time, I was fortunate to have helped hundreds of horses and students in addition to practicing advanced training with my horses, I was able to develop a program that guides students through a clear and progressive framework designed to help them think and problem-solve independently.

When we seek guidance from those with more experience, we save time, avoid unnecessary mistakes, and gain clarity in our journey. As I’ve grown as both a coach and instructor, I’ve worked to embody this philosophy in every lesson I teach. Growth is a lifelong process, and I’m always honored when someone places their trust and confidence in my instruction.

Below you will find common horsemanship scenarios that lessons provide instruction on.

Foundation Development

Foundation development is everything when it comes to building a relationship with our horse that we can truly enjoy. Like anything done well in life, if the early steps aren’t carefully developed and firmly established, things are likely to fall apart as we reach for higher levels of achievement.

The good news is that, with knowledgeable guidance, this foundational phase can be deeply rewarding. It’s during this time that we begin to experience the true strength and harmony that come from a solid relationship with our horse.

Behavioral Issues

As much as we love our horses, they sometimes develop unwanted behaviors. That’s where the power of horse psychology can make a tremendous difference. By understanding how the horse’s mind works and applying specific exercises based on the dynamics of pressure and movement, we can create lasting change, turning unwanted behaviors into positive, willing responses.

Liberty Training

Developing the ability to play with your horse at liberty creates a deeper bond; one that transforms the experience from simple horse ownership into true partnership. Throughout my horsemanship career, I’ve been passionate about teaching a style of communication that naturally leads to success in liberty work. As an instructor, it’s incredibly rewarding to guide students as they discover the freedom, trust, and connection that come from interacting with their horse at liberty.

If you’re ready to experience that level of connection for yourself, click the button below to schedule a lesson and begin your liberty journey today.

Performance Psychology

Performance horse training is a broad and complex topic, but at its core, every sport shares one essential element—quality horsemanship. The demands placed on performance horses can be intense, which is why it’s vital to help them stay mentally and emotionally balanced. When a horse feels confident and centered, they’re able to perform at their true potential.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with performance riders from a variety of disciplines. My focus has always been on complementing their existing training approach by developing genuine collection, balance, and freedom of movement—allowing both horse and rider to perform with harmony and precision.
